I enjoy having good tools for the work I do. They aren’t for show and do take a serious battering from time to time. I also find having them is a good reminder for the high standard I set myself on each job. Like my tools, I hope my gardens last along time.

MY PROMISE

I pride myself on getting the most out of any work I do. Doing it to the best of my ability. I am always trying to reach a level I would be happy with, if I were the client having the work done myself. I only use and source the best quality materials for each specific job. For all planting jobs I personally go and pick every individual plant. This way ensuring I get the healthiest specimens available. Even after a job is finished, I am more than happy to offer ongoing advice and guidance for any of my projects, should you need help, so you get the most from your garden.

About Me

MY NAME IS Ed

I have been a gardener for twenty years plus. I have worked for a few landscaping firms in that time. But fourteen or so years ago I decided to go back to college and study a course in landscaping, with the aim of getting as much out of it, to set up my own business. It also allowed me to discover the area I was most interested in. Which turned out to be plants! This was most likely due to my love of the natural world. I have always had an obsession with insects, birds and mammals. But for some reason one day, plants joined that group. Wildlife and being immersed in nature is without doubt my biggest passion and hobby. I spend most of my spare time finding species in their natural environments and observing them. Luckily for me this is what I call a good time. It is important to then try and implement this slight obsession into my work life. Fortunatly both go hand in hand. Gardens have a lot of potential to be habitat spaces that wildlife can thrive in.

All my work is quoted for and carried out by myself. Which I hope gives the added assurance that you are going to get a job well done.

Ed planned and redesigned our garden in Wimbledon this summer. This was challenging as it involved raising a very long bed on the far side of the garden and then planting appropriately for the shady areas. Ed did an amazing job, taking into account all our preferences! As we were keen on a low maintenance design, Ed produced some really innovative plans for us with herbaceous perennials, but also ensuring we had good colour through the seasons. His communication throughout was excellent and costs clearly set out. He also took great care to reposition a plant that I was very attached to, for which I am very grateful. We have used Ed now on a couple of occasions - firstly to design and landscape our front garden/drive, and secondly to again design and then landscape our main garden, and we’d highly recommend him for any gardening project or landscaping project. Ed has such an amazing vision, as well as an incredible knowledge of various plants, flowers and trees, which enables him to come up with designs which incorporate just the right plants for the right areas. Our drive and front garden was changed from a tiled “square” into a beautiful oasis of wild flowers, a magnolia tree, and the previous tiles to shingle, which involved digging up the old concrete tiles and creating a new base for the shingle itself, not an easy job. The plants and flowers come out at various times of the year, and look fantastic, and we often have passers by commenting on how much they like it. For our rear garden, after consulting us on the ideas we had for what is a rather challenging space with lots of shade, Ed came up with a plan which meant certain areas were zoned, so that the sunnier parts now have a tropical area, and the shadier areas also have the right elements of plant, and the whole space has been thoughtfully brought to life so that it looks fantastic. Ed is not only knowledgeable about all things plant and landscape related, but also is passionate about nature and wildlife in general, and he really understands the spaces he works with. His aftercare is also second to none, making sure that everything is established as it should be. If you are looking for someone who really understands his craft, and is able to come up with thoughtfully designed areas and spaces in your garden, then Ed is the person for the job.
